Hurricane Katrina Relief Work

This page has been put together in a hurry while here in New Orleans. I just wanted to share some of the images that we saw in the first couple of days. Some are distressing and some are not. The sad thing is, the photos don't carry the emotional impact, sadness and despair of the community. However, Jehovah's people are smiling and enjoying the visitors from almost every part of the United States. In the 9th Ward, six Kingdom Halls were lost and a whole circuit dissolved because of the destruction.

The entire contents of this Sister's home was removed, tossed into the street and the sheet rock and ceilings torn down.

All the sheet rock had to be removed. The mold had begun to grow up the walls and into all areas of the home.

John Gillespie suited up for Mold work.
